London / KSS Specialty School of Pathology
Our mission is to produce high quality consultants who are ready to move into senior, clinical and academic positions at the end of their training. We aim to meet the challenges of the local healthcare environment by promoting excellence and providing the best trained doctors possible.
We focus on top-level clinical, generic and academic training within the pathology specialties, placing particular emphasis on developing doctors who aspire to excellence in their chosen area of expertise.
Why choose this school?
The London / KSS region is home to one of Europe’s most diverse populations, covering a wide range of urban and rural communities. Consultant pathologists trained at the school will gain invaluable experience from exposure to different working environments and a cross-section of the healthcare community.
The region offers world-class academic institutions, including:
- Imperial College
- University College London
- Queen Mary (University of London)
- King’s College London
- St George’s Hospital Medical School
These organisations work in partnership with the London and KSS Deaneries to provide bespoke and integrated clinical academic training opportunities. Trainees interested in a clinical career with education and/or research components will have ample opportunity to benefit from these resources.
Opportunities for subspecialty training exist in all of the pathology disciplines. The school also encourages trainees to get involved in regional specialty and school activity through STCs, the school’s trainee forum and representation on the school board and executive.
